Trainer Stef Higgins has handed in her licence – although she plans to return to the sport as soon as she can.

Higgins, who is based in Berkshire, England, is best known for her exploits with Mac Love, who won three Group races in 2009, but her most recent runner was Woop Woop, who finished last at Wolverhampton on September 9.

She revealed on her Twitter page: “Having now sorted the last of my horses, I have today relinquished my trainer’s licence.

“I have matters that need my attention, and would be unfair on my horses/owners to try and train whilst seeing to such matters.

“That said, my owners have, and are being fantastically supportive, and I hope to be back doing the job I adore just as soon as possible.”

Mac Love is now registered under the care of Roger Charlton.
