Angels Will Fall on easy list

Angels Will Fall is having a break following her disappointing run in the Lowther Stakes at York.

The filly had taken a 100% record to the Knavesmire with two wins, including a Group Three success in the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot.

However, she lost her unbeaten tag in the six-furlong Group Two when only seventh to Best Terms.

Charlie Hills, who has now taken over the trainer’s licence from his father, Barry, hopes to bring her back for the Jaguar Cars Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on September 24.

“She seems fine. Nothing really went right for her. I think she saw too much daylight and was just too keen. She wanted to get on with things,” he said.

“I think we’ll put a line through that. She’s better than what she’s shown there and we’ll see where we are with her next time. We’ll give her a break.

“The Cheveley Park is the race we may have in mind if she runs again this season.”
