Peter Toole and his family received a piece of tremendous news after the jockey was allowed to return home permanently.

Toole, a promising conditional based with Charlie Mann, suffered a serious head injury after a fall at Aintree on Grand National Day and was in the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Liverpool before being transferred to a Dublin hospital.

Toole’s recovery led to him moving to the National Rehabilitation Centre in Dun Laoghaire and he has now taken another step forward.

A tweet from the Injured Jockeys Fund read: “Peter Toole returns home to family as officially discharged from National Rehab Centre in Dun Laoghaire.”
