Mehdi loses Maiden tag at Ripon
Brian Meehan's Mehdi easily justified his prohibitive odds in the EBF Children's Day Maiden at Ripon this afternoon.
The juvenile had kept good company on his first three racecourse starts, notably finishing behind Roman Soldier on debut.
The 1-5 favourite was sent straight to the head of affairs by Shane Kelly dropping back to six furlongs in North Yorkshire and was never in danger of being caught, passing the post with a full nine lengths in hand over Bapak Pintar.
