Bauer set to return

Bauer is set to make a belated seasonal debut at Haydock on Saturday.

Luca Cumani is looking at the Watch Races Live at racinguk.com Handicap over an extended mile and a quarter for the eight-year-old grey.

The Newmarket trainer feels the Halling gelding will benefit greatly from his first run since September.

Bauer has had just two runs since going down by only a nose to Viewed in the Melbourne Cup in November 2008.

“Bauer is going to run in a mile and a quarter handicap at Haydock on the 6th,” said Cumani.

“He always needs his first run, so I wouldn’t expect too much from him this time.”
