Lame Borderlescott out of Goodwood

Borderlescott is lame and will not run in the Audi King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood next Thursday.
The popular nine-year-old sprinter, winner of the Nunthorpe Stakes in 2008 and 2009, was unsound after a workout on trainer Robin Bastimanâs gallops.
Bastiman is having the injury checked out, but has already ruled Borderlescott out of next weekâs Group Two sprint, which he won 12 months ago.
âHeâs not well. Unfortunately he came off the gallops lame today,â said the Wetherby handler.
âIâm taking him to the vets at Malton.
âI hope he hasnât fractured a leg behind. Itâs the same leg where the problem was in the Temple Stakes.
âIt might not be anything to do with that. He might just have pulled a muscle. Iâm hoping thatâs what it is and itâs nothing more serious.
âHe wonât be running at Goodwood next week, thatâs for sure.â
