Tom Queally helped Imaginary Diva to a belated success in the hardingscatering.co.uk Handicap on a grey afternoon at Brighton.

The five-year-old mare had gone close on several occasions this season under trainer George Margarson's daughter Katie, who was leading her up by the seaside this time.

Sent off at 9-2, Imaginary Diva looked like she would be playing second fiddle to Bookiesindex Boy inside the final furlong but he flattered to deceive and Queally quickened past him to finish a length clear. Do More Business pipped Bookiesindex Boy by a short head for second.

Owner Elaine Hook said: "She deserved a win as she ran well last time. I think Tom just about knew what he was doing, even if she is not quite Frankel!"
