Jet set for Sandown charge
Astrophysical Jet will stick to five furlongs for the Group Three Coral Charge at Sandown on July 2 after pleasing connections at Royal Ascot.
The four-year-old filly was 10th to Prohibit in the King’s Stand Stakes on her first start since recovering from a virus.
“She’ll go for a Group Three a week on Saturday at Sandown,” said trainer Ed McMahon.
“I was very pleased with the way she ran at Ascot. She was only beaten five and a half lengths and she beat Prohibit last year as a three-year-old.
“That was Prohibit’s fifth race since he returned from Dubai and it was only our second of the year.
“Her first race in the Palace House wasn’t a race at all. She was carrying a virus and when she runs at Sandown she should be pretty much spot-on.
“That should set her up for the Audi King George (at Glorious Goodwood).
“That will be her next port of call after Sandown, and then the Nunthorpe (at York).”
