Load 'up against it' in Powers

Henry de Bromhead admits Loosen My Load faces a tall order when he takes on old rivals Noble Prince and Realt Dubh in the Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

Loosen My Load has nine lengths to find on Noble Prince having finished third behind Paul Nolan’s charge in the Jewson Novices’ Chase at Cheltenham.

He was also beaten 10 lengths in fourth place by Noel Meade’s Realt Dubh in the Bord na Mona With Nature Novice chase at Leopardstown in December.

“He’s in great form and we’re delighted with him,” said the County Waterford trainer.

“He’s been good since Cheltenham so we’re hoping for a good run.

“He’s up against it with horses like Noble Prince and Realt Dubh, but hopefully he’ll give a good account of himself.”

Gordon Elliott would like to see some rain for his runner, Roi Du Mee.

“He could do with a little rain but he’s in good form,” said the Co Meath trainer.
