Manifest ruled out for season
Henry Cecil has suffered a blow just as the Flat season swings into gear with the news that Manifest has been ruled out for the season.
The lightly-raced five-year-old has always been highly regarded at Warren Place and looked a stayer of huge potential when winning the Yorkshire Cup by eight lengths last May.
However, he was only seen in action once more when down the field in the Ascot Gold Cup.
Cecil revealed on his website, www.henrycecil.com, that his campaign is over before it has even begun.
“In this game you always get problems, but it is still sad,” said Cecil.
“It is a great shame as he had done very well physically and would have been a contender for races such as the John Porter, Yorkshire Cup and Hardwicke at Royal Ascot.”
Cecil also had news of some highly-touted individuals yet to see a racetrack, such as World Domination, Air Traffic and Midday’s half-brother Midsummer Sun.
“There are a number of three-year-old maidens that I hope to get out during the month. They are mainly unraced and will gain from the experience and come on for their first runs,” he added.
“Air Traffic, Midsummer Sun, Solar Sky, World Domination and Change The Subject are all horses who I hope will run over this period.”
