Pady set for Punchestown run
Forpadydeplasterer is on track to make a long-awaited reappearance at the Punchestown Festival in early May.
Last year’s Queen Mother Champion Chase runner-up returned sick from a poor run in the William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton when pulled up and was unable to go to Cheltenham this spring.
Forpadydeplasterer was taken out of three races at the feature meeting – the Ryanair Chase, the sportingbet.com Champion Chase and the totesport Gold Cup - and is now being prepared for Punchestown.
The two-mile boylesports.com Champion Chase, in which he was second to Golden Silver last season, is a possible target.
“He’s great. He’ll not run at Aintree but will go to Punchestown,” said trainer Tom Cooper.
“He’s over all his problems, thank God.”
Also Punchestown bound is Son Amix, who was a fine second to course specialist Buena Vista in the Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham.
“He’s come out of Cheltenham in very good form,” the County Kerry handler added.
“I’d say we’ll probably go to Punchestown with him for the Grade Two hurdle.”
