Ground preparations for Cheltenham are almost complete ahead of the four-day Festival that starts on Tuesday.

The taps have been turned off on the Old Course on which racing will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, while watering on the New Course which features the Thursday and Friday action will end tomorrow.

“We are good to soft, good in places on the Old and New Courses and good, good to firm in places on the Cross-Country,” said clerk of the course Simon Claisse.

“We are watering the New Course again this afternoon and tomorrow morning to try to maintain conditions to the end of the week, which is expected to be dry apart from a few spots on Monday and Tuesday.”
