Chepstow washed out

This afternoon’s meeting at Chepstow has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen had no alternative but to call it a day following two morning inspections, the second being at 9.30am.

Ottesen said: “We have had 24 millimetres of rain since Friday, and the bottom line is that it’s not safe for racing.

“It was borderline when we inspected at 7.30am, but we’ve since had 5mm more rain.”
