Jacob eyes swift return

Daryl Jacob will be back in action at Huntingdon on Thursday after his fall at Market Rasen on Tuesday.

Jacob was unseated from Sir Pitt in the Caffrey’s Irish Ale Juvenile Hurdle, the same race which saw Phil Kinsella suffer a fractured skull.

“I don’t feel too bad. I’ve got a bit of a headache and I’ve taken the day off, but I hope to be back at Huntingdon on Thursday,” said Jacob.

“It was just of those falls that happens so quickly it’s over before you can think about it. I’m quite lucky really when you look at what happened to Phil.

“I’ll have a quiet day today, have a few cups of tea and a few paracetamol and hopefully be back tomorrow.

“The main thing is I get back for the weekend because I should hopefully have a few good rides at Newbury on Saturday.”
