Bangor Friday card abandoned

Bangor’s meeting on Friday has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

Officials had feared the worst after the nearby River Dee burst its banks on Saturday night.

Clerk of the course Ed Gretton said: ``The level of the river has dropped slightly, but the track is still completely flooded and there would have been no chance of racing on Friday.

“There is less debris on the course than we would normally have when it comes over the top but we have lost three fences.”
