Fakenham on frost alert

Officials at Fakenham have today announced an 8am inspection on raceday morning ahead of their fixture on Sunday.

Clerk of the course David Hunter has been called into action after overnight temperatures dipped to -3C.

Another frost has been forecast on Saturday evening, but Hunter remains confident the meeting can defeat the elements.

Hunter said: "I think we're in with a fighting chance.

"We would have so nearly raced today, but the ground is too tight and crusty in places.

"The forecast is encouraging, however, and we're pretty confident it's not going to be as cold as last night."
