Doncaster meet in doubt

Doncaster's meeting this afternoon is subject to a second inspection at 9.30am.

With overnight temperatures having dipped to -3C, acting clerk of the course Gemma Charrington delayed making a final decision following a 7.30am assessment.

Temperatures are due to rise above freezing by 9am, at which stage the protective fleece which is covering the course will be removed.

Charrington said: "We managed to get the whole track covered after racing yesterday, which was brilliant as we would have had no chance without the fleece.

"It's looking encouraging under the fleece, but it is still very cold."
