Frost claims Haydock and Gowran

This afternoon's meeting at Gowran has been cancelled after the track was found to be unfit for racing due to frost.

This afternoon’s meeting at Haydock has also been abandoned due to frost.

Clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright had called an 8am inspection but he made an earlier decision after a colder than expected night.

“We have abandoned due to frost,” he said.

“There’s no prospect of it coming out in time for racing. We were forecast minus 1C overnight but we actually got minus 4.5C, so we’ve had to call it off.”
