Tony McCoy has doubts whether Synchronised is a good enough jumper to provide him with a second Aintree Grand National but the stayer has done enough for the champion’s career already by providing him with a first success in the Chepstow version.

In winning the Coral Welsh National by just under three lengths, McCoy was able to complete a full set of the marathon handicaps, adding to his previous successes in the English, Irish and Scottish equivalents.
