Frost prompts Sedgefield check

Sedgefield have called a 2pm inspection for today ahead of Sunday’s meeting.

Clerk of the course Charlie Moore reports temperatures to have dropped well below freezing overnight and parts of the track are frozen.

“Minus 5C last night was obviously not good news and there is a lot of frost in the ground,” he said.

“However, warmer air and some moisture is potentially coming in and we have to see if the frost is realistically going come out of the ground.

“We will take a view at lunchtime and if we think it might come out, we will run on with it.

“We are very keen to race and want to give it every chance.”
