Trained by Alan King and carrying the colours of the Favourites Racing syndicate, Iolith is one of many in the stable to have left a disappointing 2009-10 season far behind him.

He followed up a win at Kempton with a very easy victory at Taunton on December 30 and Favourites’ racing manager Graham Skeats said: “He’s two from two this year and is ready for a step up in grade, but there’s not a lot for him at the moment.

“We’re not going to rush him and will play it by ear.”
