Lingfield for second check
This afternoon’s National Hunt fixture at Lingfield must pass a second precautionary inspection at 9am.
Clerk of the course Neil MacKenzie Ross initially called a 7.30am assessment because of the possibility of frost.
And while overnight temperatures dipped to just below freezing, a sharp start to the morning means a second check is required.
MacKenzie Ross said: “Temperatures are just beginning to drop again. We were down to minus 1.6C at 7.30am.
“There’s now a bit of white on the leaves, but nothing that should give us too much concern.
“We remain very hopeful.”
