Green light for Ayr

This afternoon’s meeting at Ayr will go ahead as planned after there was no need for a planned inspection.

Course officials had called a check for 8am in light of a cold forecast but overnight temperatures only just dipped below freezing.

However, an inspection has been called for 8am ahead of tomorrow’s scheduled meeting.

“We are fine to race today, it only just got below freezing,” said clerk of the course Emma Marley.

“But we are going to have a look again tomorrow as the forecast is not great. It’s going to get to minus 3C which will be on opened up ground so it is best to look. It will be a milder day tomorrow, however, getting up to 6C.”
