Frost claims Musselburgh card

Musselburgh have called off their New Year’s Day fixture due to a frozen track.

Clerk of the course Harriet Graham had planned to inspect the track at 8.30am but she made an early decision after seeing little improvement in conditions overnight.

She said: “It’s not improved enough to give us a chance, there are still some frozen patches and they’re not shifting.

“It’s forecast to be cold again tomorrow so it’s not going to move in time for us to race.”
