Kempton gets green light

The meeting at Kempton this afternoon will go ahead as planned following an inspection.

Clerk of the course Brian Clifford was able to report minimal snowfall overnight ahead of the fixture which features seven bumpers for National Hunt horses.

Clifford said: "We got between one and two centimetres of snow, but thankfully it hasn't frozen and it stayed above zero all night.

"It hasn't gone into frozen lumps, which was the big worry."

More snow is forecast overnight and with racing planned at the Sunbury venue tomorrow evening, the track will once again stage a 7am inspection on raceday.
