Fairyhouse and Punchestown cards rescheduled

Wednesday’s meeting at Fairyhouse and Thursday’s fixture at Punchestown have been cancelled due to snow and rescheduled for later dates.

Both cards had already been rescheduled but with the tracks still covered by snow, the Irish Turf Club have made an early decision.

Fairyhouse’s fixture, which was originally due to be run on November 28 and features three Grade One events, replaces a meeting at the track on Saturday, which has now been abandoned.

Punchestown’s John Durkan Memorial Chase meeting is now due to take place on Tuesday, December 14.

Explaining the situation, Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone said: “With both tracks still covered by snow, Fairyhouse and Punchestown have both been cancelled.

“They are moving Fairyhouse’s Wednesday meeting to Saturday. Fairyhouse were due to race on Saturday anyway and that particular card has been cancelled.

“Punchestown’s Thursday meeting will be moved to next Tuesday, meaning the meeting at Cork next Tuesday will be moved back to the Monday.”

Gowran are due to race on Friday but the track is currently unraceable and officials are monitoring the situation.
