Adverse weather hits Bangor meet

Monday’s meeting at Bangor has become the latest casualty of the current cold snap.

Clerk of the course Ed Gretton had planned to inspect the course at 11am but he brought forward that check as conditions are unlikely to improve.

He said: “Parts of the track are still frozen and the forecast is for -5C tonight and for the next few nights.

“There is also the possibility of some snow showers so we brought forward the inspection as there’s no chance of us racing.”
