Sandown tomorrow snowed off
Tomorrow's jumps meeting at Sandown has been called off following an early inspection due to snow.
Officials at the Esher track brought forward a planned 9am inspection after there was found to be four inches on the course.
A decision is expected later on when an inspection ahead of Saturday‘s scheduled meeting there will take place.
Andrew Cooper said: ``We had two to three inches of fresh snow overnight which has left us with at least four inches on the track and all over the estate.
“In the timescale of tomorrow‘s racing it was a straightforward decision.
“As far as Saturday concerned we will look at the timing of an inspection. There are indications of a change in the weather for Saturday. We will see what that amounts to and take it from there.
“It is certainly going to be less cold, with some sleety rain about as a weather front comes over from the west. It‘s all going to be about timing and the impact of it. There‘s also going to be a sharp frost in the area tonight - there are a lot of things to take in.
“There will be an announcement about an inspection for Saturday in due course.”
