Ayr announce inspection for Wednesday meeting

Officials at Ayr are pessimistic about their chances of racing of Wednesday after calling a 12 noon inspection today.

Clerk of the course Emma Marley admits the situation is looking bleak at the Scottish venue as the cold snap continues to bite.

She said: “We have had persistently low overnight temperatures and we also have a light covering of snow.

“The forecast is for further low temperatures overnight and only 0C to 1C in the daytime so we have deemed it necessary to inspect.

“We are frozen in places too so it’s not looking too bright.”
