Commander decision due on Monday
A decision is set to be made on Monday on whether Imperial Commander will clash with Kauto Star in the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.
The Cheltenham Gold Cup hero made a winning return to action at Haydock in the Betfair Chase last weekend, but suffered a cut leg in the process.
Trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies told Channel 4 Racing: “He’s OK, the wound is still open but it’s healing every day.
“We’ll try to make a decision on Monday as to when to run him again. He’s not cantering yet, he hasn’t been out of his box since the race.”
