Jockey Keniry back by the weekend

Barry Keniry aims to be back in action in a few days after escaping serious injury in a fall at Wetherby on Saturday.

The jockey is, however, battered and bruised after being kicked when taking a tumble from Bogside Theatre at the third-last flight in the bet365 Mares Hurdle.

“There’s nothing broken, I’m just badly bruised. Every part of my body got kicked, even my teeth. I’ve got lots of aches and pains,” said Keniry.

“When it first happened I thought my leg had gone again but I just took the skin off my leg. I got a good banging all over my body, so I’ve just got to get the bruising out.

“I’ll sit today out, I’ll sit tomorrow out and be riding out on Tuesday and could be up and away after that. There’s not much racing up north for me anyway until later in the week.”
