Golden Kite flying ahead of Cork Grand National
Adrian Maguire's Golden Kite will bid for a National double at Cork on Sunday.
The Munster National winner will line up in the paddypower.com Cork Grand National, for which he is a 7-1 chance with the sponsors.
However, Maguire will be watching the skies with intent as he would prefer no further rain to fall before post time.
"The intention at the moment is for Golden Kite to go for the paddypower.com Cork Grand National," said Maguire.
"He has come out of the Munster National very well and he seems in good form. I suppose that fitness is important to any horse over three miles and four furlongs.
"He is best on good ground and it would be a worry if the ground went a bit softer.
"I'd be liking to think that he can win again, but whether it is Sunday, I don't know!"
The sponsors have installed Noel Meade's Sigma Lifestyle and Mouse Morris' Tinakellylad, behind Golden Kite last time out, as their 5-1 joint-favourites.
"I think that Sigma Lifestyle might end up as clear favourite as he ran a cracker at Gowran on his return. Saying that the handicapper may or may not have overreacted by putting him up 3lb for a placed effort," said Paddy Power.
