Isolate ploughs lone furrow
Isolate carried the famous all-apricot silks of Gillian, Lady Howard de Walden to success in the EBF ladbrokes.com Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Leicester.
The going of heavy, soft in places sifted many out of the reckoning in this seven-furlong affair, but Isolate had pedigree on her side and already had two previous runs on her belt.
Trained by Hughie Morrison, the grey came home strongly as others weakened and won by two and a half lengths from the 3-1 joint-favourite Our Gal.
Lady de Walden said: "She seems to enjoy her racing and is a brave little person.
"Steve Drowne said she was happy on the ground, and I believe her sire (Verglas) has handled it."
