This afternoon’s meeting at Warwick has been given the go-ahead after the track passed a 7.30am inspection.

Clerk of the course Andrew Morris called the check following heavy rain on Sunday but reports the track to be raceable today.

He said: “We had 18 millimetres of rain yesterday but it stopped at around 4pm and we’ve had a good dry spell that has allowed the rain to soak through and I think that has saved us.

“The ground is heavy all round and the only slight concern we have is that we might not be able to use the stalls for the 10-furlong race.

“That is due to ground conditions but we will see how it goes when racing starts and make a decision from there. We always have a flip start as a contingency.”
