Jockeys in the wars at Listowel

Jockeys Emmet Mullins and Michael Doran will be on the sidelines for at least a month following falls at yesterday’s meeting in Listowel.

Mullins broke a collarbone when Decoy Daddy fell at the first in the Dawn Milk Handicap Chase, while Doran sustained a shoulder injury when Feast Or Famine crashed out at the third-last of the Low Low EBF Handicap Hurdle.

There is, however, better news of Shay Barry, who is making good progress from a broken pelvis at Killarney last month.

Irish Turf Club doctor Adrian McGoldrick said: “Shay returned home after a spell in the Whitfield Clinic in Waterford on Sunday – it’s a positive step on his road to recovery.”
