New Planet camp eye Childers glory
Unbeaten juvenile New Planet is set to test the water in Pattern company for the first time in Doncaster’s Polypipe Flying Childers Stakes on September 10.
The youngster confirmed the promise of a Beverley debut success by scoring in Listed company at York last week and trainer John Quinn is hopeful his charge can progress further in the coming months.
“He’s come out of the race in grand form and we were delighted with him,” said Quinn.
“He’ll go to Doncaster in a fortnight for the Flying Childers and we’ll see how he gets on.
“It was just his second run at York so hopefully there’s a bit more to come from him.”
Quinn also had news of his other Ebor Festival winner, Hawk Mountain, who is in line for a crack at the totesport.com Cesarewitch at Newmarket in October.
“Hawk Mountain was very good in his race and the plan is for him to go straight to the Cesarewitch,” the trainer added.
“We’re very pleased with him and look forward to Newmarket.”
