Stein back in business
Connections of Steinbeck feel the colt may be on the way back up after winning at Killarney on Tuesday evening.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained three-year-old had slightly lost his way since his fourth in the Irish Guineas in May, but had little trouble landing the Vincent O’Brien Ruby Stakes.
Seamie Heffernan’s mount was the 5-4 favourite for the Listed race over an extended mile, in which he stayed on stoutly to collect by nearly two lengths.
“He deserved to win like that,” insisted Heffernan. “He has been showing us plenty at home and hopefully that was a confidence-booster for him.”
