Aussie ace primed for Deauville
Darley July Cup third Alverta will bid to build on that fine effort in the Prix Maurice De Gheest this Sunday at Deauville.
Paul Messara’s mare has been impressive in Australia this year, bagging the Group One Coolmore Classic in good style.
“She has put in a couple of solid workouts here at Newmarket and we are really pleased with her,” Messara told At The Races.
“We are going to ship her over on Friday night as she can be a difficult traveller, not on the flight but she doesn’t settle in very well.
“We will be travelling her through the night and she will be arriving there early on Saturday morning.
“I believe he (Tye Angland) rides on Friday. He knows the horse well and we are pleased to have him on board.
“There are a couple of potential races here if we decide to stay. Basically at this stage we are going to see how she runs and take it from there, each race at a time.
“As long as she gets there 100% she should be in the frame.”
