Super Kala set to step up

Richard Hannon is already considering stepping Goodwood maiden winner Kalahaag up to Pattern company.

The Iffraaj filly, owned by former Abba singer Benny Andersson, was only ninth on her racecourse introduction at Newbury but appeared to have learned plenty from that experience when coming with a late run to beat 10 rivals over seven furlongs.

She holds entries in all the major valuable sales races at Newmarket but red-hot Hannon is already thinking of races like the Radley Stakes at Newbury.

“Kalahaag is a nice Iffraaj filly who cost us 50,000 guineas, and she looks as if she might be better than a nursery type,” said Hannon.

“We could look at one of the big sales pots or maybe a Listed or Group Three, something like the Radley Stakes at Newbury (October 23),” he told www.richardhannonracing.tv.
