Ron Harris is planning further Irish raids with Sapphire Stakes winner Glamorous Spirit.

Ron Harris is planning further Irish raids with Sapphire Stakes winner Glamorous Spirit.

The Chepstow trainer won his first Group race through the sprinter on Irish Derby day at the Curragh but she subsequently finished last in the City Wall Stakes at Chester last weekend.

Harris believes it was too much, too soon, and Glamorous Spirit will now have a few weeks off.

“We went back too quick after the Curragh and she needs a break now,” he confirmed.

“She could go back to Ireland actually, either for the Flying Five (at the Curragh on August 29) or I think there’s also a race at Tipperary.”
