Kasbah Bliss is resting up for a late-season campaign following his disappointing run at Royal Ascot.
The smart stayer, formerly a top-class hurdler, was never a threat in the Gold Cup, but trainer Francois Doumen has detected a reason why.
“He had a little health problem in the race and we have put him out to rest at the farm,” said Doumen.
“It wasn’t a big thing and he’ll be fine. We didn’t have plans for a race after Ascot anyway and he will be back in the autumn.
“I would say he would possibly come back in the Prix Gladiateur at Longchamp (in September), which he won last year.”
Following the victory in the Gladiateur, Kasbah Bliss went on to finish second in the Prix du Cadran and run well over a shorter distance in Hong Kong.
