Charlton assesses Breath options

Roger Charlton is keen not to look too far ahead with Bated Breath following his hugely impressive display at Haydock yesterday.

The Dansili colt took his record to three wins from three starts at the Merseyside track and his trainer hopes there is plenty to look forward to for the rest of the campaign and beyond.

ā€œHe’s in good shape this morning and we were delighted with him. He’s developing into a nice horse,ā€ said Charlton.

ā€œWe haven’t really thought about where we’ll go next and we’ll just have to see what the handicapper does and see what races are coming up.

ā€œWe won’t be rushing him and he doesn’t need to run much more this year. A couple more times maybe at the most.

ā€œWe’ll take our time with him and just see how he is as it’s still early days with him.

ā€œHe’ll probably be rated between 100 and 105 now and to be a Group horse he needs to improve another 10lb.

ā€œTo be a really good horse he needs to improve another 20lb, so who knows?

ā€œThat is quite a lot but he’s progressing and going the right way.ā€
