Seeharn hits Ballygallon target
Seeharn made it two wins in as many starts today as she bagged the Ballygallon Stud Stakes at the Curragh.
Trainer Kevin Prendergast and jockey Declan McDonogh tasted victory in the six-furlong heat with Shimah in 2008 and Seeharn was sent off a 3-1 chance to follow in her hoofprints.
The Pivotal filly was a winner at this track earlier in the month and she was still travelling well as she came to tackle the favourite Moonlit Garden at the furlong pole.
Seeharn accelerated past and as Moonlit Garden started to toil, McDonogh's mount pulled a length clear with 20-1 shot Gatamalata rushing through to claim the second spot.
Prendergast said: "She's a nice filly. She won't run again until the Moyglare. We'll give her a little break and I think she'll be a good contender.
"She hates the ground, being by Pivotal - that's why she didn't win by four lengths.
"Hopefully it gets soft (for the Moyglare). If it does there'll be no danger!"
