Jarvis duo in top trim
Elzaam is in fine form following his gallant effort in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday.
The youngster, owned by Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, was grabbed on the line by Strong Suit and beaten a nose after being in front a long way in the big two-year-old race of the meeting.
“He’s absolutely fine, A1,” said trainer Michael Jarvis.
“There are no firm plans for him yet, we’ve not discussed it. There are obvious races to go for but there have been no decisions so far.”
Jarvis also reported Opinion Poll in fine shape after bypassing Royal Ascot for France in search of some cut in the ground.
And the move paid off, with the progressive four-year-old stayer landing a Listed contest at Chantilly on Wednesday.
“He’s come out of the race well, he got home on Thursday and is all in one piece. We are happy with him,” Jarvis added.
“He just got away with the ground in France. It had begun to dry up, but there was still enough give in it for him to perform.
“As ever, where he goes next will be ground dependent.”
