Pimpernel out of French Derby
Elusive Pimpernel will miss his intended engagement in the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly on Sunday after suffering a setback.
John Dunlop’s colt was due to tackle 10 furlongs for the first time in the French Derby having finished fifth in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, but racing secretary Marcus Osgood confirmed he will not be making the trip to France.
“He won’t be running this weekend as he has met with a minor setback, but that’s all I can tell you at this stage,” said Osgood.
