Irish jockey making slow progress in hospital
Irish jockey Francis Lawlor remains unconscious in Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast but continues to make progress.
The 19-year-old claimer from Ballitore in Co Kildare suffered a heavy tumble when Hammer It Home crashed out at the third-last in the Data Select Handicap Hurdle on Friday.
"He's still unconscious as far as I know, but they have taken the ventilator away so he's breathing spontaneously," said Cliff Noone, the Irish Turf Club's press officer.
"He does have some facial injuries but no broken jaw which we initially thought he had. He has a slight swelling to his lung but that is nothing serious.
"He has a bit of a way to go but he's fine and he's in good hands. His family are very happy with the way he has been treated at the hospital."
