Martin 'shocked' by Quest demotion
Owner Noel Martin’s shock had yet to subside following Jacqueline Quest’s demotion into second in the StanJames.com 1000 Guineas.
Henry Cecil’s filly was first past the post in the second Classic of the season, but was adjudged to have interfered with runner-up Special Duty, who was awarded the race.
Martin said: “I thought that British horseracing was trying not to be like the French, putting the emphasis on the jockey because he makes a mistake.
“I was rather shocked (at the decision), just like everybody else.”
