An icy easterly wind blowing over the rolling gallops of Jackdaws Castle did little to banish the smile from Jonjo O’Neill as he welcomed home his 2010 John Smith’s Grand National winner Don’t Push It.

The horse that provided the trainer, owner JP McManus and 14-times champion jockey Tony McCoy with a first win in the world’s greatest steeplechase was happily back in his paddock munching grass with the six sheep who keep him company.
