Tomorrow's Wincanton meet abandoned

Tomorrow's meeting at Wincanton has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

The West Country venue has been hit by substantial rainfall over the past few days and with conditions worsening by the hour, clerk of the course Barry Johnson has had little option but to call off proceedings.

"We've had 25 millimetres of rain in the last 24 hours and there is more to come, so we've got no chance," said Johnson.

"It's unfortunate, but we seem to have the worst of the weather in the West Country.

"Roll on the next meeting."
