Plumpton passes inspection
This afternoon’s meeting at Plumpton goes ahead after the track passed a 7.30am inspection.
Heavy rain on Saturday night had forced clerk of the course Mark Cornford to call for the morning check but he was able to deliver a favourable verdict.
“We were very fortunate. The rain fizzled out shortly after lunchtime yesterday and by 3pm we were in a bit of sunshine and the wind picked up.
“We will be omitting the first hurdle in the back straight as there is a little patch of false ground there but the rest is perfectly raceable, although it will be wet, heavy, testing ground.”
